It is with sad regret that I report on the passing of Heather Sampson, a wonderful woman who survived a double lung transplant and fought Cystic Fibrosis valiantly. My thoughts go out to her daughter, Alexa and the rest of her family.

Our film, "The Red Room" , has played at Fangocon NY, a festival by Fangoria. It was well received by audiences! Special thanks to Marla at Fangoria!

It stars Lorenzo Lamas, Deborah Gibson and...oh yeah I'm in it somewhere. Maybe.

What a hectic week. Five nights of filming on Jason Smart's "Intrusion", a nice little thesis with a twist at the end. Above par for most student films. A great learning experience for me working out the acting kinks. GOT TO WORK.
Then on to Daniel Doherty's "Life with Miriam" at 9am after a 6am wrap. Woo! Fuzzy head. John Phillips saves the day when he brings a much needed suit for the funeral scene! Thanks, bro.
When the chips are down...

My reel is up now. Well, partially. Check it out here.

Congratulations to CJ Schmidt for screening his NYFA thesis, "Blood Money" at the AFI in Hollywood last Tuesday. Beautifully shot, great sound and music tracks! "I don't deal with two-bit pimps..." Love it!

We have officially signed a deal with Capitol Films, for the production of "The I Scream Man" today. Onboard is producer Chris Eberts ("Lucky Number Slevin", "Lord of War"). JT Mollner helms.
Here are two sites that have reviewed "The Red Room" for us: Uncovered Films and 28DaysLaterAnalysis.

It's been awhile since an update.
"The Red Room" is being reviewed by various online magazines. It will also appear onscreen at Fangocon in NYC. Fangoria is also featuring it online in the upcoming film fest.
"Henry John and the Little Bug" is finally moving on to the sound portion of post.
NoRemake is signing an option deal with a mini-studio for a summer production of their feature horror film.

2 days on the set of a submarine. Lots of Star Trek type of action as the sub gets hit and the crew "jumps to the left". The movie stars Lorenzo Lamas and '80s pop star Debbie Gibson.
Right next door to the sub was the cockpit of the ship from "Firefly", for all you SciFi geeks .
This Saturday is the filming of a Lincoln commercial/music video for the Filmmaka competition. Lincoln has given us an MKS and money to produce a spot featuring the song "The Race", from the up and coming band, Heavenly States. JT Mollner directs. Five out of ten spots will be chosen to be featured on the upcoming Grammy presentation.

I have been cast in The Asylum's upcoming mockbuster "Megashark", playing a navigational officer. Should be a fun 2 days of filming.

Here is the cast for our newest 35mm short: ![]()
12/17
We finish up in the Universal Studios office building with HD footage, officially wrapping
"Henry John and the Little Bug" .
Man was this fun! We get to totally break the 4th wall in this kind of 'after thought' way. Yeah, you'll have to see it, Jerky.

Moving into the modern portion of the film, we film in Hollywood at a very hospitable house near LaBrea. The crew is a little smaller but just as effective.
11/21
Action! Is called in the cabin in Chatsworth where "Zorro" (1940) was filmed. Dirt was shoveled in and spread around the floor by JT Mollner and myself beforehand.
Academy Award winning DP Gavin Kelly and his AC, Matt Caudillo, set up shots in the dust filled cabin overlooking the valley.
Liz Mendoza whips up some makeup wizardry (mustaches and wigs as well as blood!) while Saori Nakada summons hair magic. Together with Vikki Paschetto's wardrobe expertise, we create a late 1800's scenario where bandits break in to a family dinner.
I'd like to throw out a special thanks to JB Blanc, a talented actor and dialect coach, who went above and beyond to keep the accuracy level on our set high.
What a great view of the valley, by the way!
11/9-19
Rehearsal is up for our new film, "Henry John and the Little Bug" , produced by Chris Ivan Cevic of Burnt Pictures in conjunction with NoRemake Pictures.
Gabrielle Stone, Anne Ford Galiana, James Debello, Nathan Russell, Alan Kee, Duke Mollner and myself show up for the molding of storytelling magic. Oh yeah, babe.

We have received an approval of budget for another short film written by JT Mollner. This one will be a mult-genre bending piece, spanning several timelines/dimensions. Hang on to your freak wigs...
Sunday Evening, which was shot last summer, will get an upgrade as we rework the audio and recut scenes to tighten things up. Look for it on your grocer's shelves... er...
7/28
The Red Room is now an official selection of the SoCal Independent Film Festival!
Congratulations to a job well done by cast, crew, NoRemake, Burnt Pictures and Avery Productions!
7/11
The recut is finished and a new master will be made. A sleaker version with better pacing.
7/4
The Red Room is now being recut to address technical issues that the director was not happy with. Despite the positive feedback and beauty of the finished product, we knew we could make it better. So far we have again exceeded our expectations!
5/30
5 more festivals will see our DVD or "The Red Room" for inclusion in the festivities.
5/28
Our DVD of "The Red Room", was privately screened at a party, which included some big name producers, writers and directors, including Mr. Scorsese himself! It was quite impromptu and unofficial, but we got a kick out of the fact that our movie was seen and the topic of discussion amongst the notable professionals in Hollywood. Special thanks to our EP, Nathan Russell, for making it happen!
In addition, our DVD has gone out to 7 festivals so far, with more to come.
5/22
The master DVD of "The Red Room" is now in our possession. World dominatin' soon after...
Special congrats to Bobby Howard, colleague from Lara Mazour's class, for having his self-produced "Brother John" accepted into CineVegas!
We unfortunately missed the deadline ourselves... but wish Bobby the best!
5/16
The completed product. "The Red Room" rocks. It has surpassed our expectations and is 5 steps above "Sunday Evening". Superb sound editing, crisp colors, creative shots. I think one of our takes was 3 min. long! Soon to be screened locally, then shipped off to festivals, where it should garner a few prizes, if I may be so bold.
Hehe.
4/20
Well once you're in the editing bay, you know what you got. Unfortunately a lot of the steadicam footage could not be used and some of the focus was too soft. So now, we get creative with the cuts. The movie will still be far superior to "Sunday Evening".
Onward!

Telecine for "The Red Room" continues today. Some absolutely smashing camera work by Keven Atkinson elevates our vision to unexpected heights. Film rocks. HD and DV is officially for the birds.

Severe Visibility was nominated 'Best North American' film at the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival in Malaysia. Way to go!
Seems the world is onto the true nature of the 9/11 report's official version. Press link.
In other news, JT Mollner acted in a film entitled, "The Cardinal Code" and it is being screened on Saturday, April 5th at Sunset Gower Studios.
It's a story about a tight-knit group of men who go camping. When a devastating secret is let loose, it all chaotically unravels into a twisted wiener-package. Chris Ivan Cevic also stars as well. It will be out on DVD shortly after.

Wrapped! A six hour shoot downtown takes us into post-production. Cinematic sleight-of-hand by Kevin Atkinson, who I discovered has lived in Japan as well!
The complete rock solid, talented and hard working cast here.

The first night was a total success. Way ahead of schedule, thanks to the masterful hand of 1st AD Adam Lawson. We finished all the 1st location shots. Now it's off to downtown Los Angeles to shoot exterior scenes. What a crew we have! Some great work from talented people, notably the DP has pulled off some great, stylistic shots from the eye of Director, JT Mollner. All on 35mm film.
Now that's hot...
